Our primary role is to guide you in navigating the endless possibilities for your event and to alleviate the frustration and overwhelm that all too often accompanies the planning process. And, with our vast network of vendors and years of experience, we will save you time and maximize your budget.
Whether you are planning an intimate dinner party for 10 or a tented wedding for 250, we dedicate the same amount of attention and care to our clients, ensuring that each event is flawlessly executed and your story is told.

At J. Lys Events, we pride ourselves on our personal and hands on approach. We offer full and partial planning, month-of coordination, as well as hourly consulting and we are always happy to tailor our services to your needs and budget.
Full service includes it all. We begin working with you from the very beginning, searching for your venue, creating and managing a budget and timeline, crafting décor concepts, matching you with the best vendors for your day and much more. This also includes full coordination on the day-of your event.
You may already have your venue and some of your key vendors set but what about the rest? Partial planning is a great option if you still want to handle some planning aspects on your own, but need additional help. Together we will agree upon the amount of planning assistance needed, and a suitable timetable to begin working together.
You’ve planned the whole event but who will make sure everything goes according to plan on the day? JLE begins working with you 1-2 months prior to your event, once all of your vendors are contracted. We will liaise between your vendors and venue to ensure that all of the logistical aspects of your event are organized. We will create a detailed timeline for the day-of and make certain that your months of planning and hard work go off without a hitch.
A native New Yorker, Juliette Lys Shulman [pronounced lease ] was raised between Manhattan and Montauk. A graduate of New York University, Juliette began her career in event planning as an event producer for the internationally renowned ballet competition, Youth America Grand Prix, where she planned dance competitions across the country. She continued her special events career at the landmark theater New York City Center, where she spent several years planning large scale fundraising events including trustee dinners, opening night parties and annual galas. Realizing that she had a talent for and interest in social events, Juliette began working with and learning from some of the leading wedding professionals in the field, prior to launching J. Lys Events in 2012.
With a genuine love for entertaining and a passion for creativity, Juliette's warm and inviting nature sets her apart from the rest. She has had the distinct pleasure of working throughout New York and the Hamptons, including such venues as Blue Hill at Stone Barns, The Plaza, The Pierre, Gotham Hall, IAC HQ, The Frick Collection, The Metropolitan Building, New York City Center, MoMA, The Knickerbocker Club as well as private residences in the Hudson Valley, Southampton and Montauk, NY.
She currently splits her time between New York City and Montauk with her husband and loving pup.
